Plan a local business website around practical visitor questions
Prepare service details, location information, hours, contact paths, and maintenance responsibilities before choosing a local business website template.
On this page
A local business website should answer practical questions before it asks for an enquiry. Explain what the business provides, where it operates, and how a visitor takes the next step. Prepare those facts before you choose a template.
This article gives a content planning process. It does not promise local search visibility or describe a real business's results.
Write the questions that precede contact
List the information a visitor needs to decide whether to contact the business. Start with the questions the business already receives.
A repair service might need to explain its service types, working area, opening hours, and booking method. A shop might need its location, available product categories, and collection arrangements. These are planning examples, not published business facts.
Give each important answer a maintained source. Name the person who can confirm it. Avoid filling a template section with an assumption that nobody owns.
Separate the service from the sales language
Describe what each service includes. State any relevant limit in plain language. Explain what information the visitor needs to supply for an enquiry.
Use a separate page when a service needs a substantial explanation. Keep a short overview when several services form one narrow offer. The page structure comparison helps make that decision.
Do not invent a price, guarantee, certification, or response deadline to complete the demo layout. Publish a claim only when the responsible person confirms its source and scope.
Make location and hours useful
State whether visitors can attend the premises, need an appointment, or receive the service elsewhere. An address alone may not explain that distinction.
Keep the written address useful without an embedded map. A visitor may need to copy it, read it with assistive technology, or use a different map service.
Publish the applicable opening hours. Explain exceptional arrangements when they matter. Assign the task of updating holiday hours or a temporary closure.
Use the same confirmed facts in the main page, contact page, and other destinations you control. A copied address or old schedule can remain on a supporting page after the homepage changes.
Choose the contact path for the actual process
Identify whether the visitor calls, sends an enquiry, books through a service, or visits during opening hours. Make the next action specific.
Explain what happens after the action. A booking request can require confirmation. An enquiry form can collect a message without reserving a time.
Use the contact form checklist for message delivery. If booking uses another service, identify its account owner and review its actual confirmation process.
Do not promise immediate availability merely because a template displays a calendar.
Prepare honest supporting material
Use photographs that the business owns or can publish under the applicable terms. Identify the subject accurately. A stock photograph does not establish that the pictured premises or staff belong to the business.
Use testimonials only with a real source and appropriate permission. Keep an unsupported testimonial section empty during planning. Remove it from the published page until valid material exists.
The licence guide helps identify asset questions. The image sizing guide helps prepare the selected files.
Keep metadata consistent with the page
Give each page a title and description that match its content. If the project publishes business structured data, use the same verified business facts.
Google's LocalBusiness documentation describes supported business details such as addresses and opening hours. Correct structured data does not guarantee a particular search appearance.
Do not add a rating, branch, or opening time that the visible content and responsible owner cannot support.
Give every changing fact an owner
| Content | Source to confirm | Update responsibility |
|---|---|---|
| Services | Current business offer | Service owner |
| Location | Actual visitor or service arrangement | Business owner |
| Hours | Current working schedule | Operations contact |
| Contact action | Working delivery or booking process | Integration owner |
| Images and proof | Asset source and permission | Content owner |
Replace these role examples with the people who maintain the website.
Use the maintenance plan to keep the record usable after launch. Browse the template directory with the confirmed content ready, then compare layouts that can explain it clearly.
